Diet, obesity, and ER-negative breast cancer (triple negative and HER2-overexpressing). With respect to triple negative breast cancers, we are studying (1) regulation of BRCA1 by dietary polyphenols and dietary carcinogens, (2) biological effects of chemokine secretion and modulation by dietary polyphenols, and (3) the role of IGF-IR signaling in the biology of triple negative breast cancers. In HER2-overexpressing breast cancers, we are studying (1) adipocytokine-mediated resistance to HER2-targeted therapies, and (2) dietary polyphenols and Herceptin resistance. |
