Postdoctoral Positions

Regulation of Vascular Gene Expression

Ongoing studies involve mechanisms of receptor-mediated regulation of
gene expression in vascular smooth muscle and endothelial cells.
Applicants should have a strong interest in this topic and a publication
record demonstrating expertise in either receptors, signaling and/or
cardiovascular biology.  Opportunities exist to address specific
problems by integrating  molecular/biochemical, cellular and
transgenic/physiologic methodologies.  Projects focus on how receptor
signaling modulates mRNA expression via post-transcriptional mechanisms,
on how transcription factor complexes integrate complex modes of
signaling inflow, and on how these processes ultimately contribute to
vascular function.

Applications, including the names of at least three referees, are
invited from individuals who currently hold or will soon earn a Ph.D.
Although these positions are funded by NIH grants, applicants should be
eligible to compete for extramural post-doctoral awards.  The NIH salary
scale is employed, but fellows earning an extramural award will receive
an additional salary supplement.
